Welcome to Beyond Wednesdays!
This is our very own Elim Youth blog, Beyond Wednesdays!
Our goal as a youth ministry is to see students and families become part of a life-giving community taking steps on a journey to become more like Jesus. Wednesday nights are an important part of that journey. Everything we do on Wednesdays is designed to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus and with one another. BUT, we also recognize that most of life and most of our walk with Jesus happens beyond youth on Wednesdays and church on Sundays. The conversations students have with friends and family, their time reading the Bible and praying, the hours they spend at school, playing sports, participating in extracurricular activities, and simply navigating everyday life all provide opportunities to grow in their faith. These moments matter, and we want to help students and families make the most of them.
Beyond Wednesdays exists to equip students, parents, and families to live a life with God, not just on Wednesday evenings or Sunday mornings, but every day of the week. Some of our posts will be written specifically for parents and caregivers, some will be geared toward students, and others will be designed for the whole family. Our hope is that whatever we share, it will help you take another step in following Jesus together.
What Can You Expect?
We want Beyond Wednesdays to be a place where you can be RESOURCED, ENCOURAGED, and INFORMED. There are a few types of posts you can expect to see regularly:
RESOURCED - We’ll share book reviews, article recommendations, podcasts, videos, and other resources that can help students and families grow in their faith. We’ll also share helpful reflections, ideas, and resources from our Elim Youth and Elim Church staff.
ENCOURAGED - We want to celebrate with our community, what God is doing in and through our youth ministry. You’ll hear student stories, read event recaps, and get a glimpse into the ways we see God working in the lives of our students and leaders.
INFORMED - We’ll keep you up to date on what’s happening in Elim Youth, introduce you to our amazing leader team, highlight upcoming opportunities, and share important information for students and families.
Ultimately, our hope for Beyond Wednesdays is simple: to help students and families follow Jesus in the ordinary, everyday moments of life.
